How to restart Cloud Print Server (x-print server).

For our printers to be available through Google's Cloud Print Service, there must be an active connection between our local x-print servers and Google. Occasionally that connection gets interrupted and needs to be reinitialized. The easiest way to do this is to reset the x-print servers.

An x-print server is a small network device located in our server room. It is NOT our main server. We have two of these devices. For redundancy, each x-print server hosts both the Middle School Printer and the Elementary Printer.

To reset an x-print server follow the directions below:

  1. On our internal network go to xprintserver.in.sevenpeaksschool.org (172.16.0.123) or http://cbprintserver.in.sevenpeaksschool.org (172.16.0.124)
  2. Log on as admin with the password ***
  3. Click Admin -> Restart
  4. Click the Restart Button and wait 60 seconds.
    Note: Any print jobs in the Google Cue will be processed after the connection is reset.
